THIS PUBLIC STORAGE ISNT A SECURE FACILITY. I rented a storage locker from public storage for about six months, I was out of town and upon getting back to Sarasota I immediately went to my Public storage locker. On that day I found that my locker was broken into. approximately $7500 worth of items were stolen. I called the Sarasota police immediately in front of the Zogisle the manager that day and an officer came out to take my statement. The police officer determined that whoever broke into my locker came over the top of the locker very easily. There were only two small pieces of metal and few screws that needed to be removed. Management of this public storage was made aware of this immediately as we met the Sarasota police officer. I made a police report and an investigator came out and asked for the security footage which public storage REFUSED to provide police and they asked for the names of the parties lockers that were next to mine, which they again REFUSED to provide. I also made an insurance claim through public storages partner Orange that handles the insurance. This claim was denied because I couldnt show any break-in. This facility is supposedly a secure facility. Passwords are needed to get in and get to the different floors and somehow my locker was broken into. All you need to do is Just rent a locker and break into others. No security because the walls dont go to the ceilings. I would never rent from public storage again. The lockers are not secure. Anyone can climb over any of the lockers because the walls are short and do not go to the ceiling. All you need to do is remove few screws and youre into your any neighbors units. And by there own admission, Zogisle said some of the cameras dont work and thats why they couldnt give video to the Sarasota Police This isnt a secure facility and the police officer made management aware of this problem. You can see in photos the walls dont go to ceilings and that there are 2 pieces of metal with a few screws dividing the units. The interior of unit is the same construction. With no security between units.
