02-14-2024Another in my continuing public service announcements about PUBLIC STORAGE. My stuff is at the 8200 Balboa location in Van Nuys, California. Tell your friends: DO NOT do business with this horribly unethical, sleazy company. PUBLIC STORAGE will hit you with multiple price increases, often as much as 25%. One of its employees privately admitted that he/she had heard of customers experiencing three or four price increases in ONE year. "It's sort of like the lottery," I was told. Pass the word: AVOID PUBLIC STORAGE!

01-28-2024I have no idea if it's all public storage facilities, but only having 1 worker on side for half of the day is extremely stupid. and the rest of the day I guess nobody is there because nobody answers the phone, the doors stay locked for hours at at a time, and when you leave a message for the "manager" to call you back, they don't call you back. I have a 10x20 space paying 347, and they want to raise the rent to almost 500 per month, saying that its 'market value' when it's absolutely NOT the case. I price checked units all over LA and right by this unit, and 10x20 units or some even bigger, are still priced below/around my current rate of 347. no valid reason to increase the rent by over $100 other than they take advantage of situations. they know full well that most people don't have the ability to move their stuff to another storage facility or even to a different unit within the same facility. then saying its 'market value' would make much more sense if I wouldn't find other 10x20 units for less than $300 3 miles away from the current facility. overall, this place is a joke. and the outdoor units are horrible and let in so much dust that you stuff will be COVERED in dirt and dust even if you don't ever open the door. again, this place is a joke and youre better off using literally any other company. most of these reviews are also paid and fake, so don't let their high rating fool you. horrible.
