Public Storage, located at the junction of Route 1 and Route 130 just south of I-95 and just east of Route 135, offers an array of cheap self storage options for Fairfield and the surrounding community.
This location offers a large amount of indoor units with interior hallway access. This location also offers outdoor units with drive-up ability, as well as rental parking spaces for vehicles.
A property manager lives on site 7 days a week and a keypad code is required to enter the facility, for added peace of mind.
With Jennings Beach just a few minutes away, this is a great spot for storing beach chairs, blankets, umbrellas and sandy gear year-round in a 5x5 unit. Slightly larger hauls, perhaps all the gear needed to regularly set sail out of the South Benson Boat Marina, will fit nicely in a 10x10 unit here.
Students enrolled at nearby Fairfield University or Sacred Heart University can use a 10x15 unit to declutter the tight campus quarters, while families in the area – including the Black Rock, Southport, Trumbull, Easton, Weston and Greenfield Hill communities – can take comfort during a remodel knowing everything can fit into one large 10x30 storage unit not too far away.
A growing community that still holds small-town values in the highest regard, along with an appreciation of nature and the arts, it's no secret why so many families and businesses call Fairfield home. Public Storage is committed to providing residential and commercial customers with the highest level of self storage service.
Amenities:
What can I say, it's a public storage place. The only thing I didn't like was that the app doesn't always work for gate access and no one is ever in the office! I no longer needed my space and it was kind of strange on how to cancel your space. You basically have to figure out out for yourself, as there is No one you can talk to. That's why I have it 3 stars. Also, if you do get space from here, I would suggest buying a headband light. The hallways are lit, but not your storage space.
I began renting a storage unit at this Public Storage location in 2021 and had a positive experience for the first couple of years. The staff were friendly, and the facility appeared clean and secure. Unfortunately, that changed drastically this year. A severe mouse infestation caused extensive damage to my stored belongings. When I discovered the problem, there were droppings, chewed boxes, and ruined personal items throughout the unit. I had to clean up the mess and throw away most of my belongings myself, which was both distressing and costly as I had to hire professionals to help me clean and sanitize the unit and what was left of my belongings. The insurance coverage has a limit of $250 in damages, where my expenses exceeded $1500. After a $100 deductible, the insurance agreed to cover a whopping $27 for the claim, after I've paid extra for insurance for the last 4 years! It wasn't even worth the time and trouble to finish the claim. I filed a report with the local health department because the conditions were clearly unsanitary and unacceptable for a paid storage facility. Despite my long history as a customer, I received little help from management. As of today, I no longer rent a unit at this location. In the past couple weeks leading up to moving out, there were 3 dead mice in my unit. What started out as a reliable place to store my possessions turned into an experience I wouldnt recommend to others. I hope the company addresses these serious sanitation and maintenance issues so future renters dont go through the same situation.
