The experience with this public storage has been a complete nightmare!! We have vacated our storage on February 19. We called a few days later and were told that we needed to leave the key. Since we went out of town, we mailed the key. We received a call stating that it was supposedly the wrong key. I asked the man who called what can we do in this situation as we are miles away. He said that they will need to cut the key. He then said that we need to wait for the lady who arrives once a month to cut the key. I asked him when will she be coming and he said he doesnt know. I was upset about this vague and unprofessional answer. I called again and a lady answered this time. She said that this was all a misunderstanding and since we live out of state, she will go ahead and vacate us. We received an official email from Public Storage telling us that we are officially vacated. My husband receives a call a few days later and was told that we were not properly vacated and that we need to send an authorization to cut the lock. He sent an authorization. I called again and once again, I was told that we needed to send an email. I told the man that we already sent the authorization on Thursday. He stated that the authorization was not processed and hell find out why but in any case, we still need to call someone to cut the lock and until then we are not vacated. I sent an email as well and received an error. I called again and this man was still unwilling to help us! There is no number to call the headquarters or general customer care!! What a terrible company and a terrible branch of the company!!
Absolutely the worst storage facility we have ever dealt with. We vacated our storage on February 19 but after several back-and-forth phone calls and emails we are still responsible for it!! What in the world??? We received an official notice that our storage is vacated, but the local branch is refusing to relieve us from financial responsibility of the storage. We should not be responsible for the fact that the staff is not properly trained and completely incompetent.
