Very friendly people and makes moving easier when need a storage unit
I have had 5 units here and since Public storage took over it had been nothing but fees, fees and more fees, rent raises, new requirements continuously, trying to make me download their app, so warm in the winter my furniture was effected(and it's supposed to be climate controlled) now trying to make us auto pay, ect... It never ends. I have emptied all my units and gone somewhere else. Wouldn't keep a unit here if it was free.
Ive been a customer here for almost two years with no previous issues or concerns. Upon checking my unit a week ago, I noticed over 6 inches of brown water inside one of my storage bins. There was an active leak from the insulation that ruined everything in 1/3 of my larger unit. My boxes were not only saturated with water, mold had already begun to grow on furniture, and there was a serious roach infestation. Upon checking my second unit along the same side, there was also a leak in that one. When I contacted the property manager, Annette, I have never had worse customer service. There was zero empathy, talking over me not allowing me to finish or ask questions, and inaccurate information and lies regarding being contacted. They disclosed their building received damage from the storm that happened around the 9th earlier this month. Weeks ago from this point. They did not contact all the tenants to let them know. They also said the issue had been fixed. The district manager, Jennifer Sanders. was initially understanding and offered a refund for the month. A few days later I called to let her know I believed the leak was still active and that the roach infestation was severe. This time, it felt as if I was bothering even letting her know. Quote I am not a roof expert. Well neither am I, but I would think a district manager may want to know about building issues to better serve her customers, maybe not. I was finally able to empty both my units within the week and called back to let her know. Jennifer said she was only refunding for one of my units because shes not refunding everyone. Although the contract said they would provide a climate controlled, secure storage space, I was not provided that nor do I feel that the company or any employee I spoke with took any accountability whatsoever. Bottom line, I would not rent here anytime soon until the leaks and roach infestation are dealt it. Even though they claim the leak has been fixed, the insulation is completed saturated and needs to be replaced. It hasnt been my experience that they will disclose any information to their tenants, handle any issues professionally, structurally ensure their clients have a safe space for their belongings, or work to make it right.

Despite having a terrible previous experience with the Public Storage on Davis HWY in pensacola I decided to give public storage another shot. I was surprised at how well this location operates. Shannon was very helpful in explaining all the new features like using the app to open the gate and the entire process. She didn't try to force a larger unit and instead explained which size storage would work best for my needs. Facility is very clean and secure.
