(Part 1 of 2) Your belongings are not safe here! If youre even thinking about using Public Storage for storing your valuables, you need to read about how my locker was ransacked and looted while Public Storage failed to perform even the most basic due diligence to prevent it, despite there being a string of similar burglaries both before and after what happened to me. I was a customer for sixteen years and didnt have any problems until very recently. One reason I chose Public Storage is they have a managers apartment on site at the entrance, which I thought added an extra level of security. Hold the thought about the managers apartment. On February 13, 2024 I visited my locker after being overseas for a couple of months and removed a bunch of belongings relevant to my work, which is what spared me from losing even more belongings when I came back about 11 a.m. the next day and found that my unit had been burglarized about 3 a.m. and looted to the tune of about $15,000 worth of belongings, including about a dozen firearms. The unit next to mine, 32, which was the second of three inside one of the exterior doors, was also burglarized. I believe it was unit 124 or 129 which got hit the same night, according to employees. If youve ever been burglarized or robbed, you know the feeling of being violated. As I was dealing with the aftermath, in no particular order that I can remember because of the shock I was experiencing, imagine the following details coming to light in my interactions with Public Storage employees: -A detective showed up because of the number of firearms involved, and because it was not the only recent incident involving firearms being stolen from Public Storage. One of the employees commented, Oh, thats the [detective] who always comes out. Wait, WHAAAT? You mean this is a regular occurrence? -Yes, apparently this is a regular occurrence: someone else lost a couple dozen firearms from his locker a few weeks prior to my incident. As an aside, some of them will almost certainly be used in criminal activity; if they are and youre one of the victims, you may have grounds for holding Public Storage liable for their gross negligence bordering on reckless endangerment which Im still in the middle of describing. -Unlike in my incident, some of the recent burglaries were committed by thieves cutting an opening in the rear fence. While I was dealing with the police, the Public Storage handyman showed up and they decided it was time to repair the breach in the fence in an attempt to at least put up some sort of resistance. In my case, the thief entered through the broken front gate and burglarized three units including mine. You read that right: Public Storage let DAYS pass before they even repaired the breach in the rear fence which had allowed some burglaries, and they had not fixed the busted lock in the front gate (see video) which allowed three more burglaries. Stay with me; it gets worse! -You can see in the photo the flimsy excuse for a lock which they now placed on the gate. I was so frazzled and stressed out I didnt bother to look at it closely, and it had not yet sunk in to me how lackadaisical Public Storage was being about security. The handyman installed beefier hardware on my locker. The previous hardware had been cut through with bolt cutters and the lock was simply twisted off without opening it. You may wonder, like I did, why they didnt use sturdier hardware to begin with. I spent most of the afternoon dealing with the police, crime scene investigation, etc., and decided I just needed to get a good nights sleep before taking the next few steps. The thief had left behind some valuable things, which I removed and took to a safer spot. (To be continued separately because of text limitations per review)

She went with me to go look at the building and answered all my questions She is very professional and I'm so thankful for good people that you can tell they love helping people and their job that's hard to find these days. Adria was very informative about the PUBLIC STORAGE APP who knew you could open the gate with your cellphone, I DIDNT lol but Adria was Adamant about trying the GATE OPEN OPTION on the app!!
