Please note that the rental rate customer initially reserved only applies for the first three months and is subject to around/at least a doubling thereafter. This increase was not disclosed to me during my in-person registration and was only mentioned in an email response to my inquiry, claiming it was detailed in the lease agreement. Typically, if you have searched rental units from different companies, you will know that different storage companies clearly indicate in the website if the advertised price is a promotional rate for a limited time. I specifically recall that Extra Space Storage did not provide this information upfront, nor was it communicated to me. This lack of transparency seems to be a recurring issue with this company, as reflected in various discussions on Reddit and google. Additionally, I did not receive the lease document by email. Despite several follow-up reminders over more than ten days, I received no response. Although I have registered units at two different locations, and the manager at the other site has been responsive and he was trying to help, the lack of communication here compelled me to write this review. Currently residing outside the US, making an international call is prohibitively expensive, leaving this review as my only means to capture your attention. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Edit: I received an email after posting this review, for which I am grateful (Therefore, I changed the rating to 4 stars). However, I am disappointed that the email was focused on stating that I was informed of the internet special price during registration. While I acknowledged that the pricing was competitive when I registered online, I only perceived it as a "standard internet special price." or "I registered through internet = internet special price". I was not informed that this rate was only effective for the first three monthsa crucial piece of information that was omitted. I'm unsure if it was a website error or another issue, but the fact that the rate was only promotional for the first three months was not disclosed to me. Despite my multiple inquiries about costs, including insurance, during the registration process, this crucial detail was omitted. It remains unclear whether this lack of transparency is deliberate company policy or simply a tactic to attract customers among many other competitors, but either way, clear and upfront pricing should be a fundamental standard for any storage company.
