Clean nice facilities
I haven't rented a storage unit in over 21 years!! We needed a place fast that was clean, secure, had a variety of sizes including a good amount of choices for larger sized units. They also offer climate controlled units, storage for vehicles, boats, etc. In our situation the house we rented for 9 years was sold on short notice so we had only so much time to find a unit in the size we needed for a decent price that provides clean, dry, units in a secure gated facility. They even gave me a deal they had going on, they made the process quick and easy and soon as I signed the agreement and paid a fee I was given access immediately. Within minutes I received a message with the unit number and gate code. They also provide you with a brand new in the package lock for your storage unit that are designed specifically for storage units and are almost impossible to cut off. Only things that I wasn't a fan of is that I wasn't told when on the phone reserving my unit, she never mentioned anything about I'd have to get storage unit insurance. I found that out when I called back to pay for my unit and sign the agreement that I found out I had to choose a bare minimum of 2,000 dollars of coverage for 11 dollars a month, they wanted me to get the 5,000 coverage but the stuff I'm putting in there isn't worth 5,000. I don't know if it's worth the 2,000 dollar one I was forced to get. If I didn't click on getting the insurance I couldn't go further because it stated if you wanted to opt out of the insurance they provide then you had to bring and provide proof that you got insurance somewhere else. So I choose their insurance. Another thing I wish was different is their hours. I wish they had 24/7 access. I think 10pm is the when they close. They're well lit, gated and secure with security cameras all over the property and the unit buildings. And they're located right on a busy hwy and is located near a well lit business and parking lot. So it's seems like it would be safe and secure if they allowed 24 hour access. The units are also drive up/pull up access so that's convenient. And as I mentioned earlier they also have some climate controlled units. My unit is not climate controlled but we're not storing anything that will be sensitive to the heat or the cold. Also they ask how long you need a unit and I wasn't sure so I just clicked on 7 months or more. When I talked to the lady on the phone she asked me the same question and I told her that I honestly didn't know, could be 3 months, could be a year, or longer, we have no clue right now. She said that was fine and I noticed on the agreement it said that it was month to month, so I'm not locked into a time limit. The lady on the phone also asks you questions about what kinds of items you're putting in the unit and how many bedrooms or square feet is your home and then she's able to figure out what size unit you would need. My unit is a 10x10, for 108 dollars a month, and then it's a 11 more dollars for the insurance per month. She did offer me a deal that I got the first month free, and all I was required to pay when securing the unit and signing the agreement was 40 dollars. 29 dollar one time fee, and the 11 dollars for the insurance. I shopped around at other storage unit places and I found one that had the same size unit for I think 30 or 40 dollars less, they didn't mention insurance so I don't know if they required that or not. It was open 24/7, didn't have or offer climate controlled units. They only had 2 units available, I don't know if they provide a lock, don't know if they have a gated facility with a code, or if they have security cameras, and I don't know how the lighting is, they were located on roads that aren't as busy and are out of the way. They didn't offer the first month free, and they wanted the first month's payment down. The didn't charge any one time fees. I did research all the places I called and read their ratings and reviews, and the other place had almost the lowest rating, to where storage express had a higher rating and better reviews!!!
