04-23-2025On the same day, over the course of a few hours, I had made a phone reservation by an employee at their 4th St. location in Vero Beach via credit card for a climate controlled storage unit at another nearby location on US-1, but a short time later I arrived at the unit, and realized immediately they reserved the wrong unit because it was not climate controlled, which I had stated was necessary several times over the phone. I told the front office I would not move in and I requested a full refund that day, this is day 1 of ever reaching out to Public Storage. My request was emailed to the district manager and now it's been two weeks and although I followed up by phone several times, there has been no response back other than it's in the hands of the district manager. Public Storage is still showing a posted charge "admin move in fee" of $30.90 on my credit card statement, despite the fact that they conducted business on their end erroneously and misrepresented what I was paying for. The salesperson said over the phone that I could cancel the unit I reserved at the time I look at the unit in case it wasn't going to be the proper size. Well, worse than that they're charging me a non-refundable fee for "moving-in" when I showed up on time and decided I was never going to move in, all in the same day! Obviously it was the wrong unit, it was hot as Florida in there, so I refused to move in. Public Storage Vero Beach, admit you screwed up and give me my money back. My credit card company is now disputing the charge and I have full documentation of everything.
