This facility at 2311 First Capitol Dr. is great! It is easy on/off the highway, clean, and Josh (facility manager) is TOP NOTCH and super knowledgeable and helpful!! I definitely recommend this facility and the staff! I've provided additional detail below to help others out if you're looking for more specifics. - We moved out of our house and have A LOT of stuff. Our house was 3300 sq ft. (including unfinished basement with a wood working shop + exterior yard shed). We ended up in 5 storage units that totaled about 700 sq. ft. (about 21% of our residential space). Our units are packed full, but still accessible to find things without moving everything out/in. - We chose this facility because they have an option to pre-pay your unit rent for up to 24 months! This means that I finally have a way to lock in a consistent rental rate for longer term storage!! This is the biggest reason why I chose this company. In the past, I've experienced where my storage rent would jump 40-50% every 4-6 months and in renting 5 units, we would not be able to financially manage that kind of inflation. A pre-pay option was a game changer! - We used a moving company to move from our house into storage units. The storage facility staff was great about having our units ready and advising us that we could use the phone app to create temporary access codes for the movers to get in/out the main entry door. Unfortunately, the phone app didn't work for us (IT issue was sent to their corporate office but not resolved in time for our move), so we had to manage entry/exit other ways. - This location has an external loading/unloading area. You can get close to the main entry door, and then you have to enter your key code or app scan to get through the door. (It does not have a large bay were you pull in your car to load/unload inside). It was a bit cumbersome to have enter a code every time one of our movers needed to get from the truck inside (and we had a team of 5 movers constantly coming/going), but we worked around it by having someone stand by the door to keep it open. I believe the facility staff also has a way to override the door if you're coming in/out frequently, but the main facility manager was off that day and the person on site wasn't sure how to do this - There are 2 floors of interior climate controlled units that are accessible WITHOUT an elevator. This was great for us! - There are plenty of flat bed carts available to use just inside the main door. - The facility is clean and I also like that it is a new facility/building! Each interior unit has a metal roof which will be great to cut down on dust. (I previously rented a unit in St. Louis City which was a converted warehouse and my items would get caked in dust and filth from the ceiling, etc. I'm hopeful this won't be the case at this facility since the building is new). - The office staff of this facility, especially Josh, is phenomenal to work with! He knew my name and the details of my contract even before I walked in the door to meet him in person. He has quickly and knowledgeably answered all my questions about the rental contract, moving details, and billing. - Lastly, there is a great Mexican restaurant around the corner from the facility. After a hard day of moving, you can get a Mexican ice cream or Agua Fresca for a refreshing rest.
