10-31-2025Set up the unit about a year ago, very easy to do. Prices did go up significantly during that time, from 70 to 120, and then again to 180. Recently my unit, along with several others, was broken into (I don't want to give potential burglars ideas, so I won't say why, but until things are more secure, don't rent a unit in building A). Andre was as helpful as he could be by providing information on how to file reports and such for missing items. April was also very helpful when it came time to move my remaining things to a more secure location on the lot. They helped me pick the best location, waived a transfer fee, held doors while I moved awkward items, and removed rogue nails from the concrete so that I didn't have to worry about them damaging my things. I give it 5 stars for the ease of signing up a unit, 5 stars for the staff, probably a good 5 stars for my current unit, and 4 stars for price increases which aren't fun but are understandable considering the economy. 1 star for the building A situation, though, which definitely needs addressing. For anyone new to the world of storage units like I was, my recommendation is to only really store things if you're in a temporary situation (like moving from one apartment to another, so you don't have to rush to move or pay rent on both apartments at the same time), or if its for necessary things that aren't too expensive (like holiday decorations, camping equipment, etc). Don't store tempting things like family heirlooms, collectables, electronics, music equipment, tools, or anything like that, just keep it with you if you can. If you do have to store it, hide it. Don't store furniture long term that can be sold and replaced, because the money you spend on the unit will end up being more than the cost of a new couch, bed, table or shelf in the long run. Check other units for obvious signs of break-ins, and find out what security measures are taken at night, like automatic locks, alarms, guards, cameras, and perimeter fencing. Storage facilities can be good, but they aren't Fort Knox. Always photograph everything you put in your unit along with serial numbers, unique markings (like your engraved initials), damage etc. for any police reports that may have to be filed. This can help with convictions and recovery of your property. Its very difficult to recall everything that is missing when its gone unless you have something to remind you. Good luck out there.
