Needed a storage facility for my business and was offered a great deal! $89 per month on a 1015 unit. I was told this rate would last for up to a year but of course rates could change. With that in mind they asked if I'd like to put an advanced payment down. I agreed to 4 months up front. Coincidentally, on my 3rd month when I called in to pay the remainder of the year they had advised me my rates went up to $142. Now still to date been with this company less than a year and they've bumped my monthly payments up AGAIN to $184 per month. Dont waste your time talking about unrealistic "discounts". My advise? Go with an upfront company not one that earns business based on one time application discount offer.
I normally dont leave reviews but this experience was honestly very disappointing. I am renting a unit under my name and provided my access code to my parents so they could drop off items. When my dad (who is older) had trouble getting the code to work, he went to the front office for help. Instead of receiving basic customer service he was met with a very hostile and accusatory attitude. I was on the phone during the interaction and heard the way he was spoken to, which was completely unnecessary. When I called myself to verify my identity and information (which I did successfully), the employee continued to be rude and dismissive. At no point did I argue with the policies. However, there is a respectful way to communicate that, and this was not it. The employee also made inappropriate assumptions about our situation and questioned the legitimacy of our use of the unit, said that our lease should be voided and that we "lied" to the other employee that helped us rent it. Which was honestly very unprofessional. What made this worse is that when I asked a simple question about how to properly add my dad to the account moving forward, instead of offering a solution upfront, the situation was escalated unnecessarily with a negative attitude. I do not have an issue with the company itself, but the way this situation was handled reflects very poorly on the staff at this location. Customer service should be about helping people, not making an already small issue stressful and uncomfortable.
