Daly City Public Storage provides affordable storage solutions to residential and business storage customers up and down Interstate 280.
Approximately eight miles outside of downtown San Francisco and less than one mile from the Daly City BART Station, a 5x5 storage unit at this location is a commuter's dream for keeping important items, for work or play, close at hand.
There is certainly no shortage of recreation in the area, whether it's enjoying a day at Marchbank Park or Hillside Park, or a round of golf at any of the local courses, including The Olympic Club, Lake Merced Golf Club and San Francisco Golf Club. Rent a 10x10 storage unit to hold golf clubs, backpacks, sports gear and other recreational items year-round.
Residents near Jefferson High School can take advantage of the space in a 10x20 storage unit when the time comes to convert a spare bedroom into a home office, with plenty of room to store a mattress, bedroom set and a handful of boxes.
This all-indoor facility provides indoor storage units in several different sizes, as well as the option of climate controlled storage units. The storage area features key-code entry, the property manager lives on site and the rental office sells packing supplies for additional convenience.
As the largest city in San Mateo County, extra space isn't always easy to come by in Daly City. That's why Public Storage is open 7 days a week, with cheap storage units to help alleviate any storage space needs that may arise.
Wow, what happened to this place? Reviews from over a year ago are great but definitely not in the past year. And definitely not from my experience. First, why is the parking lot always full? It's always the same cars but I don't believe vehicle storage is offered at this location. Management must but taking payment for them. Second is access. My unit was on the ground floor, and the main lobby/entrance is on the 3rd floor. The elevator worked on move-in day but never since. In the meantime we had to use the emergency exit on our floor for access. The alarm was busted so no worries there. So every time I visited I had to park on the ground floor, walk around the building and up to the main entry, then take the stairs back down to my unit and load items into my car through the emergency exit. But then the locking mechanism on the emergency exit door broke. I would've reported this to the onsite employee but there was nobody there that day. The door was "fixed" relatively quickly. However, instead of repairing the locking mechanism, they sealed the door shut. Good for security, but not so good for exiting in an emergency. I'm guessing this is against fire safety regulations. But what does the company do about access? They tell customers to use the other emergency exit, which is now degrading as well. First the metal cover on the floor beneath the door broke and is no longer there. I'm not sure what's gonna break next but this door probably won't last long with all the traffic. And lastly is pricing. They increased it about 150% over the course of a a year. I started at ~$100, and the most recent increase put me at ~$250. This is probably pretty typical but still annoying.
I started renting in January 2025 at $319. By April it jumped to $462, and if I had stayed, they were planning to raise it again to $583. Theres almost never anyone in the office, flat carts are rarely available, and now the entire parking lot is packedonly two usable spots left, with the rest taken up by cars, trucks, and even boats. The quality of this place has really declined over the past year.
Been renting for over 10 months, elevator has been broken the entire time. Rent has increase by a ton.
Not as secure as any other storage place over ever been to. Elevator is broken and employee not in office during listed office hours. Update: Since this posting my locker was robbed. Shocker. Luckily the single camera in the area had full view of the locker door but Public Storage management isnt cooperating with the investigation or communicating. I steered several people away from storing their possessions here and will continue to do so.
The worst public storage in the Bay Area. Elevator has been broken for A YEAR (I got word from someone at another facility that they do not intend on repairing it). Recently they started renting out parking spaces to cars, boats, trailers etc, leaving no spaces for paying customers to park their car. Absolutely mismanaged. I suggest going to a private owned storage facility
