06-25-2026My father and his brother, both in their late 80s, have had a storage unit at the Schoolhouse Road Extra Space Storage for several years. The rate continues to increase.every 8-10 months. Instead of keeping it at a moderate rate, they are forcing tenants who need storage to either move to another space - or move to another facility. In our case my father and uncle are not in a physical condition to move all of their things. James and Jennifer have been extremely nice, and try to be helpful, but their hands are tied by corporate policy. They have explained that the space is meant for short term lease. But Extra Storage could literally reduce our rent by over $100/mth and still be making more than the rate they are offering if we move out and a new tenant moves in (same unit offered at 159/mth today online - we are being charged $307). This business model makes no sense - not from an profit perspective to them, and certainly not from a customer service perspective. I'm only giving them 3 starts because James and Jennifer are great - otherwise it would be 1 star.
