08-04-2026One more issue I experienced that really speaks to how disorganized this location is involved the insurance on my unit. From the beginning, I specifically told them I did not want their insurance coverage and completed the paperwork accordingly. Despite that, they somehow made a mistake and left the insurance on my account anyway. I had to repeatedly check my statements because the charges didnt look right, and sure enough, I was still being billed for insurance I had declined. Instead of fixing the mistake promptly, they made the entire process unnecessarily difficult. I had to return to the facility and sign paperwork all over again just to have something corrected that should have been handled properly the first time. This was yet another example of the lack of attention to detail, poor communication, and disorganization I experienced throughout my time renting here. Customers should not have to constantly monitor their bills or make multiple trips just to correct errors that the facility created. Based on my experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want a storage company that is transparent, organized, and values its customers.

08-04-2026I would strongly warn anyone to avoid this Extra Space Storage location in Apopka entirely. The so-called promotion of around $20 per month is extremely misleading and feels like a bait-and-switch tactic. What they fail to clearly disclose is how aggressively and frequently the rent increases. My rate quickly jumped from about $20 to over $100, and eventually climbed to around $150 per month. This is not a small adjustmentit is an outrageous escalation that makes the initial advertised price essentially meaningless. The customer service is just as unacceptable. Their autopay system is unreliable and poorly managed. Even though my credit card was valid and my bank confirmed there were no issues, the facility still failed to process payments correctly and then penalized me with late fees. Instead of taking responsibility or fixing their broken system, they simply continued stacking on charges. It felt less like a legitimate business and more like a setup designed to extract extra money from customers. Access to the unit was also a complete disaster. On one occasion, my key simply did not work and I was locked out of my own storage unit. Because it was a Sunday, there was no on-site staff available at all. When I contacted customer service, I was repeatedly disconnected rather than helped. When I returned during normal business hours expecting assistance, I discovered the facility was still effectively unmanned, with staff supposedly working remotely. That is completely unacceptable for a storage facility where customers regularly need immediate, in-person help with access issues and security problems. Overall, the operation feels disorganized, unprofessional, and poorly managed. Staff appear either unable or unwilling to resolve even the most basic issues. Between the deceptive pricing, extreme and unpredictable rate increases, broken payment system, lack of on-site support, and consistently poor customer service, this has been one of the most frustrating and infuriating business experiences I have ever had. I went out of my way to drive from the Lake Nona area to Apopka because I believed I was getting a good deal. Instead, I was trapped in a situation where I paid far more than expected while constantly dealing with problems that should never happen at a storage facility. In hindsight, choosing this location was a serious mistake, and I strongly regret it. In the end, this facility not only wasted my time and money, but also demonstrated a complete lack of transparency and customer care. I cannot recommend it under any circumstances, and I would strongly advise others to stay far away and choose a more honest and reliable storage provider.
