Terrible. While I was paying for a unit, they cleared out all of my belongings and sent them to the dump. When I realized this, they didn't help me recover things. They still owe me $500, which they've never paid, from small claims court. This is on about $10,000 worth of losses (because I messed up and picked a low insurance amount and they offer amounts much lower than other storage companies, and this happened to occur during a week when I was storing lots of things there while moving apartments). A real shame, especially because they admitted it was their mistake that led to throwing away all my stuff (basically poor record keeping - when I showed up for my original rental unit, there was a lock on it, so they gave me a different one and didn't record that on their end), and then were slow to help in the window when things could still be recovered (eg, they were being bureaucratic when speed was important, and wouldn't connect me with the person they had haul it away to figure out where they took it). I lost my laptop, tons of clothes/books, outdoor gear, passport, and lots of sentimental notebooks and photos. I was surprised they didn't reach out before taking things to the dump, since plenty of these things had my contact info on them, and I left a big note in the unit with my name and phone number. I'll never rent from Extra Space Storage again, and discourage you from renting there as well. I'm not sure what they'll say to this, but all of the above is true and I think the right thing to do would be to apologize and compensate me. (For the record, it's not the case that they've been trying to reach me and I haven't responded, or anything like that.)
Clean facility with plenty of parking!
Javier and John did an outstanding job showing a storage space. John was instrumental in upgrading the initial space and sold me on the benefit of a three month plan. Dont forget to ask for the Senior Discount! ??????????
John is possibly one of the greatest customer service workers ever. Incredibly helpful and enormously considerate.
Weve had our stuff here a while and are debating leaving at this point. I dont feel confident my stuff is safe. They had vandalism this least year where almost all the door windows were broke and they have yet to make any repairs. Recently they adjusted the access hours and it is almost impossible between work and kids to ever get into our unit now. Its extremely frustrating with increased prices that the also reduced access for customers. If youre going to reduce my access, reduce how much Im paying. Edit: their response to our issue was essentially let us know if you plan to move. And we just received a third price increased in less than a year. Once a year, sure. Not worth the constant increased costs.
Fire storage units highly recommend
