After two hours, customer service was unable to explain a difference in monthly rates for the same size unit. The onsite manager and her co worker were unable to explain it. They were also unable to document how the rates were set from the beginning of the service last month. Even worse, they were unpleasant and refused to offer an explanation. Instead they printed the contract. When I asked them to help me find the part that describes the rate, they said it was not in the contract. I asked them to simply print out the policy that affected my rate. They refused. I am paying for two spaces. I thought I could walk in and get a quick, pleasant and correct answer. I thanked them for their help as they frowned and the same way they did not greet me, they did acknowledge my thanks as I left. This led me to call Customer service on the toll free numbers listed online. It took 45 minutes to speak with a customer service representative. She took the complaint and said I would receive a call back. It's been a horrible 2 hours and 21 minutes to make sure I am being charged correctly. especially for a brand loyal return customer, who is asking about a substantial price difference for the same service. I'll have a follow up. I've been warned about retaliation by on site managers at storage locations. I think that documenting bad customer service behavior is the best way to prove retaliation when it occurs. A simple smile, apology and offering the accurate answer would have been easier for these two unfriendly Public Storage operators. In contrast, my experience at Public Storage in St Augustine on McCoy Rd was the opposite. The onsite manager was friendly, helpful and professional. I hope this leads to an improvement in customer service at 270 Malabar Rd in Palm Bay. It's a good location and Public Storage is a great reliable brand until this current interaction.
