11-03-2025I have been a loyal Public Storage customer for over four years and recently transferred to the Harry Hines location. During sign-up, I clearly informed staff that I had my own commercial insurance and they confirmed it in the system. Yet Public Storage still charged me monthly insurance fees without my knowledge. When I discovered the charges in November, I called customer service and was told only the location manager could fix the issue. They scheduled me for a 9:30 AM appointment but when I arrived, the office was closed. After waiting, I was told the manager wasnt there. The associate confirmed the mistake, but when contacting the manager, she refused to credit the improper charges and only canceled insurance going forward. This experience felt extremely unprofessional and borderline scam-like. If the system confirms I already have insurance , why was I charged? And why refuse to correct the error? I hope corporate addresses this, but in the meantime, double-check your account here especially insurance charges. My experience has made me question the business practices at this location.
